THE IMPORTANCE OF FOLLOWING CASTING DIRECTIONS
This blog will be mainly helpful to male and female models.
If you have ever experienced being on the receiving end of a casting call, you must know how hectic it can be.
Receiving instructions, sending information, arranging time and time, and ensuring that profiles
match the required categories. To ensure that everything is clear, clients would simply send all the important information and disseminate it to the receiving parties.
Clients and casting agencies such as CBS Models often do this to ensure that whoever is sending in their profiles and information, is doing so in a way that works for them. Almost every client wanted a complete profile of the models and the concept of sending clients what they ask for is very important.
This will basically make all tasks easier for the model, the agency, and the client.
For models, it is always important that casting instructions are followed accordingly. It is not a good indication that whenever there is an available job, a model will jump in right away without even considering if he/she is qualified for the job.
For example, a casting call specifically says that models must have at least 170 cm in height and must have long hair. Models who do not fit the category must NOT send a note of interest considering that he/she is not qualified. It would only mean the following:
1. Model is not keen on reading instructions;
2. Model does not just care about the required profile;
In reality, this kind of process is still happening. Such behavior is an indication that modeling etiquette is never important to these models. And these incidents do not only happen to new models, but to seasoned ones as well. This can give lesser chances for models to be cast in the future or even not be cast at all.
So it is always important that models MUST follow directives and instructions. If an agent says to send non-professional images, do not send professional photos. If they will ask for a full-body professional photo, never send a profile or headshot taken with your camera phone. If they ask for a link to a profile, don’t attach the photos to your email. If they ask for photos to be attached but do not send them in huge files, do not send huge files.
Modeling is the same as any normal 9-5 job, one must learn how to listen, analyze and understand each situation to ensure that there is normal flow and seamless communication.
